Step 1: Prep the Stain

Start by prepping area where the stain is located. Use a vacuum cleaner and brush attachment to gently remove any loose debris from the fabric. If stain is particularly large and hard-set, you’ll want to use an enzyme based pre-treatment product for optimal results.

Step 2: Scrub Away the Stain

Once you’ve prepped area, it’s time to get scrubbing. Mix together some mild detergent, white vinegar and water in a spray bottle. Give it a good shake and then spray the mixture directly onto the stain. Then, use an old toothbrush to scrub the stain, working in a circular motion until it disappears.

Step 3: Rinse and Dry

Once the stain is gone, rinse the area with clean water and blot the area with a dry cloth. Allow the stained area to air-dry completely before proceeding to the next step.

Step 4: Deodorize and Protect Stain

Once the fabric has dried, it’s time to deodorize and protect the stain. To do this, mix together equal parts of baking soda and cornstarch in a bowl. Sprinkle the mixture onto the stained area and leave it to sit for an hour. After an hour, vacuum up the powder before repeating the process with fresh powder until the smell is gone. Finally, spray the area with fabric protector to prevent future stains.
