What You'll Need

  • Earplugs
  • Clean cloth
  • Dish soap
  • Water

Step 1: Pre-treat with Soap & Water

Using a clean cloth, dampen surface of the earplug with cold water. Create a lather with soap and the cloth and gently apply it to the stain. Let the soap sit for about 15 minutes, allowing it to soak into the fabric.

Step 2: Rinse & Dry

Rinse the cloth and apply clean, cold water to the earplug. Use gentle, circular motions to work the water and soap into the material. Blot the earplug with another clean, dry cloth to remove excess moisture. Hang up the earplugs to air dry.

Tips & Tricks

  • For tough stains, mix baking soda and hydrogen peroxide to form a paste. Apply the paste to the stain and let it sit before rinsing and drying.
  • If your pet has an odor, try applying a few drops of lavender essential oil or white vinegar to the earplugs before washing.
  • If you are concerned about the chemicals in your cleaner, you can use rubbing alcohol to pre-treat the stains.
