Things You'll Need
- White towels (or disposable paper towels)
- Cold water
- Mild detergent or enzymatic cleaner
- Baking soda
- White vinegar
Step by Step Instructions
- First, gather all the materials you will need.
- Begin by blotting the stain with a white towel (or disposable paper towel). Try to soak up as much of the stain as you can by pressing down and not scrubbing the area.
- Use cold water to rinse out the stain. Don’t use hot water, as this may set the stain.
- Mix a solution of two teaspoons of mild detergent or enzymatic cleaner with one cup of cold water.
- Using a clean cloth, apply the solution to the stain. Gently rub the area with a back and forth motion.
- Once the stain is gone, rinse the spot thoroughly with cold water.
- If the stain persists, try applying a mixture of 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda with one cup of cold water. Rub the area gently and rinse thoroughly.
- If the stain is still there, you can try treating the area with a solution of 1/2 cup white vinegar and one cup cold water. Again, rub the area in a gentle manner and rinse with cold water.
- Allow area to completely dry, and if the stain persists repeat the steps above until it is gone.
