As soon as you notice the stain on your chinos, gently scrape off any excess waste with a spoon or a dull knife. This step is important to minimize the amount of staining that may occur and make the job of cleaning easier.
After scraping off the excess, spray the stain liberally with a pre-treatment stain remover. Allow the remover to sit on the fabric for 10 minutes before beginning the cleaning process.
It is wise to test any cleaning products that you plan to use on an inconspicuous area first to ensure that they won't cause any damage to the fabric. To do this, spray a small amount of the cleaner on an underside seam of the pant and wait a few minutes. If no damage or discoloration occurs you can proceed with the cleaning process.
With product tested and approved, apply the cleaning solution directly to the stained area. Scrub the solution into the fabric with a soft bristled brush and gently rub the area in a circular motion. Be careful not to rub too hard as this could cause damage to the fabric.
Once you have worked the solution into the fabric, rinse away the cleaning solution with cold water. Continue to rinse until all traces of the solution are gone.
To prevent the stain from setting into the fibers of the fabric, thoroughly blot the area dry with a clean white cloth. Do not rub the area, as this could spread stain.
Once the area is dry, launder the fabric as usual with like colors. Check the fabric after washing to ensure that the stain has been removed.
