Grab your vacuum cleaner and go over area with pet stain on it. This will pick up any dirt and debris, making it easier for you to clean later.
Mix together a solution of white vinegar and liquid dish soap, or laundry detergent, in equal parts and apply it to the stained areas. Let the mixture sit for 20 minutes and then wipe away with a damp cloth.
Make a paste out of baking soda and water and apply it to the pet stain. Let the paste sit for up to an hour and then rinse off with a damp cloth. You may need to repeat this step to fully remove the stain.
Oxygen bleach or color safe bleach is a great way to tackle hard-to-clean pet stains. Mix together a gentle solution with cold water and use a rag or sponge to apply it to the stain. Let it sit for 15 minutes before rinsing off with cold water.
Once you have removed the pet stain from the backpack, make sure to dry it off completely. Use a clean towel to blot away any excess moisture, and then let it air dry.
