When caring for Angora fabric, you need to be especially careful since it's more delicate than other fabrics like cotton or wool. It's important to act fast when cleaning pet stains on this fabric to make sure they don't set in and become more difficult to remove.
Begin by blotting the stained area with a paper towel or dry cloth. Try to absorb as much moisture as possible. Do not rub the fabric as it may damage the texture of the fabric.
Carefully mix a solution of one tablespoon of liquid dishwashing detergent with two cups of warm water. Blot the solution onto the stain, taking care not to soak the fabric. Allow the solution to sit for a few minutes before rinsing with cold water.
Soak fabric in lukewarm water with a gentle detergent and let it sit for approximately 20 minutes. After soaking, hand-wash the fabric in a sink or basin with cold water. Do not wring out the fabric as this may cause irreversible damage.
After washing and rinsing the fabric, lay it flat on a dry towel and roll it up like a burrito. Gently squeeze out the excess water and then hang the fabric to air dry completely.
You may want to repeat steps 2-4 until the stain has been completely removed. Once the stain is gone, it's important to let fabric air dry thoroughly before using it again.
Cleaning pet stains from Angora fabric can be tricky but with a little patience and these steps, you'll be able to get the job done without damaging your fabric.
