Stains brought about by pets, whether it's urine or vomit, can be extremely tough and even impossible to remove on certain types of surfaces. Acrylic is one such material that can easily absorb pet stains and cause unnecessary stress when trying to clean them out. However, with the right tools and materials, you can easily remove pet stains from your acrylic surfaces and return them to their original condition.
Materials Needed
- Sponges
- Mild soap
- Paper towels
- White vinegar
- Baking soda
- Spray bottle
Steps to Remove Pet Stains from Acrylic
- Moisten a sponge using some mild soap and warm water. Then, gently scrub off any excess residue or dirt that may be present.
- Mix one-part white vinegar to three parts warm water in a spray bottle. Spray the mixture onto the area with the pet stain and then let it sit for five minutes.
- To further loosen the stain, apply a small amount of baking soda on top of the vinegar and water solution. Then, use a soft bristle brush to scrub in a circular motion.
- Rinse the area with cool water. Then, use a few paper towels to blot area until it is completely dry.
Additional Tips
- Always use a mild, non-abrasive soap when cleaning pet stains on acrylic.
- Test vinegar and baking soda solution on a small hidden area first to make sure that it won't cause discoloration or damage.
