Cleaning Perspiration Stains Out of Venetian Lace

Venetian lace is a delicate fabric that requires gentle care. While beautiful and timeless, it can be delicate and hard to clean if stained. Perspiration stains are especially difficult to remove from Venetian lace since this fabric type can easily become discolored and stained.

Removing Perspiration Stains from Venetian Lace

The best way to remove perspiration stains from Venetian lace is with a mild detergent solution. Use a quarter cup of mild detergent (like Woolite or Tide) in one gallon of cold water. Mix the solution thoroughly and submerge the stained material in the mixture, moving it around to ensure the entire stain is worked on. Soak for 15 to 30 minutes, agitating occasionally. Once the stain is gone, rinse the garment in cold water.

Stain Removal Tips

  • Be careful not to rub, scrub, or wring the material as this can damage the fabric.
  • If the stain does not come out after soaking, try adding a few drops of white vinegar to the detergent solution and soak again.
  • After removing the stain, do not dry the garment in the sun or in a dryer as this can cause damage.
  • Allow the fabric to air dry before storing.
