  • Mild soap
  • Cold water
  • Vinegar
  • Baking soda
  • Hydrogen peroxide
  • Oxygen bleach
  • Dry cleaning solvent

Instructions

  1. As soon as possible, blot the stain with a clean cloth to remove as much of the perspiration as you can.
  2. Mix a solution of equal parts mild soap and cold water and use it to gently rub stained area until it begins to come free.
  3. If the stain persists, try treating it with a mixture of 1 part vinegar and 2 parts water, or mix together 1 tablespoon of baking soda and 2 tablespoons of hydrogen peroxide. Use a damp cloth to dab the mixture onto the stain and let it sit for 30 minutes before brushing off with a clean, dry cloth.
  4. Another option is to use oxygen bleach. Mix 1 scoop of oxygen bleach with 1 gallon of cold water and allow the stained tussah to soak for 30 minutes. Rinse thoroughly with cold water.
  5. Finally, if the stain is still present after all other treatments, use a dry cleaning solvent. Saturate the stained area with the solvent and let it sit for 3 minutes before blotting away with a clean cloth.
