Getting Rid Of Unwanted Perspiration Stains From Your Tunic

Every now and then we have those days when it's too hot, and our clothes start showing the effects of that. Sweat stains can be unsightly and difficult to get rid of, but there are some simple ways to get rid of those pesky sweat marks on your tunic.

When it comes to getting rid of perspiration stains from your tunic, the first step is to find out what type of fabric your garment is made of. Different fabrics require different cleaning approaches. Once you know your fabric type, you can move on to the next step.

If you are dealing with a light fabric, such as cotton, it is best to pre-treat the garment with a paste made of baking soda and water. Mix both ingredients in equal amounts until it forms a paste, then spread the paste onto the stain and let it sit for 30 minutes. Once the time has passed, rinse the garment with cold water and machine wash it as usual. This should do the trick!

For darker colored fabrics, such as polyester, synthetic fabrics, and wool, you should mix one part white vinegar with two parts water, then dab this solution onto the stain with a clean cloth or sponge. Leave it for about 20 minutes before washing the garment as normal. The white vinegar solution should help get rid of the stain.

If the garment is made from silk, it is important to be extra careful and gentle. Start by using a damp cloth to blot away stained area. Then, mix a solution of cold water and mild detergent, and use it to gently scrub the stain with a toothbrush or soft-bristled brush. Rinse the garment with cold water and let it air dry afterwards.
