Before attempting any cleaning, it's important to check Teneriffe lace for any care instructions. Most Teneriffe lace is dry clean only, so any attempts to remove sweat stains at home could damage the fabric. If you can’t find a care label, proceed with caution and refer to the manufacturer’s website for advice.
If the care label allows for hand washing, make a cleaning solution by mixing one tablespoon of washing detergent with two cups of cool water. Make sure to use a detergent that is free of bleach or any other harsh chemicals, as these can damage fabric.
Gently dab the sweat stain with the cleaning solution using a clean white cloth. Be careful not to over saturate fabric, and never rub or scrub the stain, as this will damage the delicate lace.
Rinse away the cleaning solution with cool water and blot area dry with a clean, white cloth.
Finally, lay the fabric out in the sun and allow it to air dry. This will help to remove any lingering odors caused by perspiration. Make sure the fabric is completely dry before storing it away.
