The sooner you tackle the stain, the easier it will be to remove it. As soon as you notice a perspiration stain on your stocking, immediately take it off and treat the spot. Otherwise, the stain may set and become harder to remove.
For this method, mix equal parts white vinegar and cold water. Soak the stained area in the mixture for 10-15 minutes, making sure that all of the stain is covered. After soaking, rinse the spot with cold water or place the stocking in washer.
Baking soda is another great choice when it comes to cleaning perspiration stains from stockings. Mix one tablespoon of baking soda with a quarter cup of water to create a paste. Rub the paste onto the stained area. Allow the paste to sit for 10-15 minutes before rinsing with cold water.
If all else fails, you can always use a stain remover. Be sure to read all instructions carefully before using any product. Dilute the product according to the package directions, and then apply it directly to stain. Afterward, machine wash the item according to the care label.
Perspiration stains on stockings can be annoying, but they don’t have to be. With a little bit of elbow grease and the right products, you can easily get rid of those stains and make your stockings look good as new!
