Before you start cleaning your sarong, make sure you have the necessary supplies on hand. These include:
If the perspiration stains are still fresh, first step is to rinse them with cold water. Do not use hot water as this may cause the stain to set. Thoroughly saturate the stained area, and then lightly scrub it with a soft brush or cloth.
You’ll need to mix up a simple cleaning solution for this method. Start by filling the bowl or bucket with cold water. Add 1/4 cup of white vinegar. Next, add in 1 tablespoon of liquid laundry detergent and 1 tablespoon of baking soda. Mix the solution together gently and carefully.
Grab your sarong and submerge it in bowl or bucket. Allow it to soak in cleaning solution for at least 30 minutes. After the time is up, remove the sarong from the bowl and rinse it again with cold water.
Once you’ve finished rinsing the garment, hang it up outside on a clothes line or drying rack. Do not put the sarong in the dryer as the heat may cause stains to set. Give your sarong ample time to air dry before you put it away.
With just a few simple steps, you can effectively remove perspiration stains from your sarong. Just remember to use cold water for rinsing and never put the garment in the dryer. If done correctly, your sarong will be looking as vibrant and beautiful as ever!
