Mix equal parts cold water and white vinegar in a bowl. Soak a clean, white cloth in the solution, then wring it out so that it is just damp. Apply the cloth to the stain and let it sit for 10 minutes. This will help to break down the sweat oils in the fabric.
After the pre-treating step is complete, you'll want to toss skirt into the washing machine. Set the machine to a cold water cycle and use a mild detergent. Do not add bleach or any other harsh chemicals. Also, be sure to dry the skirt on a low setting for best results.
If any sweat stains remain after washing, then you may want to try using a stain remover specifically designed for sweat. These products are formulated to break down and remove sweat oils from fabric. Make sure to follow the instructions given on the product's label.
Finally, you'll want to take the skirt out of the washing machine and hang it up to air-dry. Do not place it in the dryer. Heat from the dryer can set the sweat stains in the fabric.
