Gather Your Supplies

Before you get started, you’ll need a few items to help make the stain-removal process go more smoothly. You’ll need laundry detergent, hydrogen peroxide, baking soda, vinegar, a sponge or soft cloth, and a toothbrush.

Start by Pretreating the Stain

To pretreat stain, create a paste by mixing equal parts of laundry detergent, hydrogen peroxide, and baking soda. Liberally apply the paste directly to the affected area, being sure to cover the entire stain. Let the paste sit for 5-7 minutes before washing.

Run the Pajamas Through a Regular Cycle in the Washing Machine

Set your washing machine to the delicate cycle. Use cold water and a mild laundry detergent. Add a half cup of white vinegar to the machine, which will help neutralize odors and help prevent the color from fading or running. After the cycle is complete, let the pajamas air dry.

Use a Toothbrush to Scrub Away Any Remaining Stains

If any stains remain after washing and drying, use a toothbrush to gently scrub away what’s left of the stain. Scrub in a circular motion using either laundry detergent or a concentrated spot remover, like Shout. Once stain is gone, run the pajamas through one more cold wash cycle with a mild detergent to remove any residue from spot remover.
