What You'll Need to Get Started

  • Mild detergent
  • Oxalic acid
  • Ammonia
  • Old toothbrush
  • Bucket of warm water
  • Paper towels

Step #1: Pre-treat the Stain

Begin by applying a pre-treatment to the stained area. Mix together mild detergent, oxalic acid, and ammonia, then use an old toothbrush to scrub mixture into the stain.

Step #2: Soak the Shirt

Once the pre-treatment is applied, submerge the entire shirt in a bucket of warm water. Let the shirt soak for at least 30 minutes. This will help loosen the stain and allow it to be more easily removed.

Step #3: Remove the Stain

Take the shirt out of the bucket and lightly scrub the affected area with a brush or sponge. Make sure to use gentle strokes to avoid damaging the material.

Step #4: Rinse and Dry

Once all the stain is removed, rinse the shirt in cold water and dry it with a paper towel. Allow the shirt to air dry completely before wearing.
