When perspiration accumulates on the surface of outdoor furniture, it can create unpleasant streaks and dark spots, particularly if the fabric hasn’t been treated properly. But taking a few simple steps can help you remove perspiration stains without damaging the fabric.
Start by vacuuming the affected area with an upholstery attachment. This will remove any stuck-on dirt and particles that could trap moisture and irritate the fabric.
Mix 1/4 cup of dishwashing detergent, 1/4 cup of white vinegar and one quart of warm water in a clean spray bottle. Shake the bottle until all of the ingredients are mixed together.
Before applying the cleaning solution to the furniture, perform a spot test on a small, inconspicuous area to ensure it won’t damage the fabric. Spray a small amount of the solution onto the tested area and wait one minute. If fabric appears to be unharmed, you can use it on rest of the furniture.
Lightly spray the solution onto the affected area and let it sit for two minutes. After two minutes, use a soft cloth or brush to gently scrub stain. Rinse the fabric with cool water.
Allow the furniture to air dry completely before using it again. Never put wet furniture back outside – it could encourage the growth of mold.
Never do laundry again. Save time for things you ❤️
