Things You'll Need

  • Plain white vinegar
  • Mild detergent
  • A soft-bristle brush
  • Cold water

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Soak the stained area in a mixture of one part white vinegar and two parts cold water for 15 minutes. This will help lift the stain and make it easier to remove.

Step 2: Wet stained area with cold water. Apply a dime-sized amount of mild detergent directly to stain and use a soft-bristle brush to gently scrub it. Rinse the area afterward.

Step 3: Repeat the process until the stain is completely gone. If it doesn't come out after several attempts, the garment may need to be professionally cleaned.

Step 4: Hang your Nautica garment to air dry. Don't put it in the dryer, as this can set the stain.

Tips and Warnings

  • If your garment is yellowed or otherwise discolored due to perspiration stains, soaking it in a solution of warm water and oxygen bleach for 30 minutes may help.
  • Always read and follow manufacturers instructions on label of your Nautica garments before attempting to clean them.
