What You Will Need

  • Liquid laundry detergent
  • White vinegar
  • Borax
  • Oxygen-based bleach detergent (nonchlorine bleach)
  • Clean white cloth
  • Cold water
  • Old toothbrush
  • Towel

Instructions

Step 1: Pre-treat the Stain with Detergent

Apply some liquid laundry detergent to the affected area of your maxi dress. Massage it in gently using an old toothbrush. After you have thoroughly treated the area, let it sit for about five minutes.

Step 2: Rinse with Cold Water

Rinse the area with cold water and use the cloth to dab it dry. Make sure to avoid rubbing the fabric as this can cause further damage.

Step 3: Treat with White Vinegar

Mix one tablespoon of white vinegar with one cup of cold water and apply this mixture to the stained area. Let it sit for 10 minutes before rinsing.

Step 4: Apply Borax or Oxygen-Based Bleach

If the stain still persists, try applying a mixture of Borax and cold water or oxygen-based bleach to the affected area. Let it sit for 15 minutes before rinsing.

Step 5: Hang To Dry and Enjoy!

Once the stain is removed, hang your maxi dress to dry and enjoy wearing it again!
