What You'll Need

  • Dry cloth
  • Baking soda
  • Vacuum cleaner
  • Hydrogen peroxide
  • White vinegar

Steps for Cleaning Sweat Stains from Mattresses

  1. Lift the mattress and check the underside of the mattress for any wet areas.
  2. Spread dry cloths over the wet spots.
  3. Sprinkle baking soda over the affected area and leave to sit for about an hour.
  4. Use a vacuum cleaner to remove the baking soda.
  5. Mix half a cup of hydrogen peroxide with a tablespoon of dish soap in a spray bottle.
  6. Spray the affected area with the solution and let it sit for about 15 minutes.
  7. Blot the area with a damp cloth to help absorb the moisture.
  8. Mix equal parts white vinegar and water in the spray bottle and spray the area.
  9. Use a dry cloth to blot the area again to help absorb remaining moisture.
  10. Leaving windows open will help the mattress dry faster.
