Before getting started, it is important to have the right supplies. You will need a clean cloth, a detergent or stain remover specifically for fabrics, and rubbing alcohol or hydrogen peroxide. Make sure to read the labels on the products you choose to ensure they are safe for the fabric of your joggers.
Begin by wetting the stained area with cold water, which can help loosen the sweat stain. If the stain has already dried, dip a cloth in the cold water and press it against stain.
Once stained area is damp, gently rub some detergent or stain remover onto the fabric. Focus the detergent on the stain itself, taking care not to rub too hard. Let the detergent sit for about 10 minutes before rinsing.
Rinse off detergent using cold water. You may even want to use a scrub brush to help remove any remaining residue. Once all of the detergent has been washed away, hang the joggers up to dry. If the stain is still present, try applying some rubbing alcohol or hydrogen peroxide to the area.
To help prevent sweat stains in future, consider wearing an undershirt under your joggers. This can act as a barrier between your sweats and your skin, preventing sweat from coming into contact with the fabric. Additionally, when drying your joggers, use the delicate setting on your dryer and hang them up as soon as the cycle is finished. This will help reduce the amount of wrinkles and preserve the fabric.
