What You Need

  • Vinegar
  • Baking soda
  • Dish soap
  • Laundry detergent
  • Clean cloth or sponge

Instructions

  1. Mix one part vinegar with two parts cold water in a bowl.
  2. Soak a cloth or sponge in the solution.
  3. Gently rub solution into the stained area to loosen the stain.
  4. Pour baking soda directly onto affected area.
  5. Leave the baking soda to sit for 15 minutes.
  6. Wash the jersey with dish soap and cold water.
  7. Rinse the jersey with cold water.
  8. Mix 1/4 cup of laundry detergent with 1/2 cup of warm water.
  9. Soak a cloth or sponge in the solution.
  10. Gently rub the solution into stained area.
  11. Let the detergent sit for 30 minutes.
  12. Rinse the jersey with cold water.
  13. Apply a fabric softener to the jersey and let it dry.

Tips for Removing Perspiration Stains

  • Do not use hot water as this will set the stain.
  • Always read the care instructions on the label before attempting to clean your jersey.
  • If the stain is stubborn, repeat the above steps until the stain is gone.
