If your headband is made of cotton or another natural fiber, you can use a natural stain remover to get rid of the sweat stains. You’ll need to mix one part white vinegar and one part water in a small bowl or cup. Dip your headband into mixture and rub the stained area until the stain has been removed. Afterward, rinse the headband off with cold water and hang it up to dry.
If your headband is made of synthetic material, like polyester, you’ll want to use a detergent solution to spot clean the stained area. Mix one teaspoon of liquid laundry detergent with one cup of warm water. Dip a soft cloth into solution and dab the stained area until sweat stains are gone. Rinse off the detergent solution with cold water and hang to air dry.
If you’re still struggling to get rid of those sweat stains, reach for an oxygen-based cleaner. Oxygen-based cleaners work to break down proteins, which is what sweat is made of. Mix one part cleaner with four parts water and dip your headband into the solution. Rub stained area with cleaner and let it sit for 10 minutes. Rinse the headband off with cold water and hang to dry.
Summertime sweat stains on your headbands don’t have to ruin your workout look. Use a natural stain remover, detergent solution, or oxygen-based cleaner to get rid of those perspiration stains and keep your headbands looking fresh and ready for your next workout session.
