Step 1: Gather Supplies

You will need the following supplies to clean perspiration stains from Georgette:

  • A laundry brush or soft-bristled toothbrush
  • White vinegar
  • Dish soap
  • Warm water
  • Small container or bowl

Step 2: Pre-Treat & Soak

Now that you have all of your supplies, it’s time to start cleaning! Begin by pre-treating the stain with white vinegar and dish soap. Mix together equal parts of each in the bowl or container and apply the solution to the stain with the laundry brush or toothbrush. Let the mixture sit and soak into fabric for 10-15 minutes.

Step 3: Rinse & Repeat

Once the pre-treatment has had time to soak into the fabric, rinse the area with warm water. If the stain persists, repeat steps two and three until the stain is removed. Do not scrub or agitate the fabric excessively, as this can cause damage.

Step 4: Dry & Store

Once you are satisfied with the results, hang the garment up to air dry. Avoid putting Georgette clothing in a clothes dryer, as this can cause it to shrink or become wrinkled. Once completely dry, store your clothing in a cool, dark area away from direct sunlight.
