Cleaning with Baking Soda
Baking soda is a natural cleaning agent that can be used to remove sweat stains from fabric. To use it, create a paste by mixing three parts baking soda with one part water. Apply the paste to the stained area of your flip flops, scrub with a soft cloth or brush, and let sit for 15-20 minutes. Then, rinse away the baking soda paste with warm water and allow the flip flops to air dry.
Using Lemon Juice
Lemon juice is another natural cleaning agent that can be used to get rid of sweat stains. Squeeze some fresh lemon juice onto the affected areas and let it sit for about an hour. Then, scrub gently with a soft cloth or brush. Finally, rinse off the lemon juice with warm water and air dry.
Washing with White Vinegar
White vinegar is another effective way to remove sweat stains from your flip flops. Fill a tub or sink with hot water and add ½ cup of white vinegar. Soak stained areas of your flip flops in the solution for one hour then, rinse with clean water and air dry.
Using Detergent
Detergent can also be used to remove sweat stains from flip flops. For this method, mix 1 tablespoon of laundry detergent into a bowl of warm water. Dip a soft cloth in the solution and apply it to the stain. Gently rub the cloth in a circular motion and then, rinse away the residue with warm water. Allow flip flops to air dry.
How to Prevent Sweat Stains
The best way to keep sweat stains from forming on your flip flops is to wear moisture-wicking socks whenever possible. Additionally, try spraying the straps of your flip flops with a deodorizing spray before wearing them. This will help keep sweat and bacteria from forming and keep your flip flops looking fresh.
