Tip #1: Blot the Stain Immediately

As soon as you notice a perspiration stain on your double georgette material, it’s important that you act fast and blot the area with a clean, dry cloth. Avoid rubbing or scrubbing the stain - this will just spread it further. Keep blotting until no more moisture can be absorbed.

Tip #2: Pre-Treat with detergent and water

Mix a tablespoon of laundry detergent with some cold water and gently dab the stain with a cloth soaked in the solution. Make sure not to rub the stain! Leave the solution to work its magic for up to ten minutes before rinsing off with cold water. This should help lighten stain.

Tip #3: Hand-wash with a gentle detergent

Fill a bowl with cold water and add a few drops of mild liquid detergent. Soak the stained area for up to one hour, taking time to gently massage fabric. Rinse off the soap and hang the garment in a shaded area to dry.

Tip #4: Use a stain removal product

If the stain persists, you can try using an oxygen-based stain removal product. Sprinkle the stained area with the product and rub in with a clean cloth. Rinse off with cold water and repeat if needed. Once the stain has been removed, wash the garment according to the instructions provided.

Tip #5: Have it Professionally Cleaned

If all else fails, the safest option is to take your garment to a professional dry cleaner who will be able to remove the stain without damaging the delicate fabric.
