Dobby fabrics are characterized by small geometric figures that create intricate patterns. It’s usually a tightly woven cotton, polyester, or nylon fabric. This weave creates a textured, almost terrycloth-like look. It's typically used in high-end apparel, such as dress shirts, blouses, and skirts.
This method is best for fresh sweat stains on your dobby fabrics. Soak the stained area in a mix of cool water and a tablespoon of baking soda. Soak item for 20 minutes, then rinse it out in cold water. Dry it with a towel and lay it flat to dry.
If stain has been left to set, you can use a baking soda paste to get it out. Mix a tablespoon of baking soda with two tablespoons of warm water until it forms a paste. Apply the paste to the stained area of fabric and let it sit for 10 minutes. Wet cloth with cool water and rub the stained area gently. Rinse the area with water, then dry with a clean towel.
For tougher perspiration stains, try this method. First, make a salt and vinegar solution by mixing one tablespoon of salt with two tablespoons of vinegar. Dip a cloth in solution and dab the stained area. Rinse spot with cool water and allow the fabric to air dry.
