Fill a sink or bucket with warm water. Add a small amount of liquid dish detergent and mix to create a soapy solution. For tougher stains, add a tablespoon of baking soda or ammonia to the mix.
Submerse the stained jeans in the solution and use your hands to agitate the fabric in the soapy water. If necessary, gently scrub affected area with a soft brush or toothbrush. Let the jeans soak for 10-15 minutes.
Using clean, cold water, rinse the jeans until all of the soap has been removed. Check jeans carefully for any remaining stains before proceeding to the drying step.
Hang the jeans in a well-ventilated area and let them air dry. Avoid using the dryer, as the heat can set the stain. Once jeans are completely dry, inspect them for any remaining signs of perspiration stains. If necessary, repeat the steps outlined above.
