What You Will Need

  • Cold water
  • Mild detergent
  • Rubbing alcohol
  • Soft scrub brush
  • Colour-safe bleach
  • Room temperature water
  • Clean towel

Step 1: Start with Cold Water

Begin by running cold water through the backside of the stain. This will help to loosen stain and allow for easier cleaning. Do not rub or scrub the stain, as this will cause the stain to set in deeper.

Step 2: Apply Detergent

Gently massage a mild detergent into backside of the stain. Allow the detergent to sit for 5 minutes or so before rinsing off with cold water.

Step 3: Use Rubbing Alcohol

Dab rubbing alcohol onto the front and back of stain using a soft scrub brush. The rubbing alcohol will help to break down the stain and lift it away from the fibers of the fabric.

Step 4: Use Colour-Safe Bleach

Mix together 1 part of colour-safe bleach with three parts room temperature water and apply to the stained area. Allow the solution to sit for 10 minutes before washing the fabric in cold water.

Step 5: Dry Fabric

After washing, dry the fabric using a clean towel. If the stain is still present, repeat steps 1 through 4 until the stain is removed.
