What You'll Need

  • Detergent
  • White vinegar
  • Baking soda
  • Cloth

Removing Fresh Perspiration Stains from Cotton Canvas

  1. Mix a tablespoon of detergent with a tablespoon of white vinegar in a small bowl of warm water.
  2. Soak the stained area in mixture for 5 minutes.
  3. Remove the garment from the bowl and rinse with cold water.
  4. Gently scrub affected area with a cloth.
  5. Rinse again with cold water and let air dry.

Removing Old or Set-In Perspiration Stains from Cotton Canvas

  1. Sprinkle baking soda over the stained area.
  2. Add a few drops of water to wet the baking soda.
  3. Massage the stained area gently with your fingers, working baking soda into the fabric.
  4. Let the baking soda sit for 30 minutes.
  5. Gently rub the area with a cloth soaked in warm soapy water to remove baking soda.
  6. Rinse with cold water and let air dry.
