Cleaning perspiration stains on canvas is usually very simple. Here is what you will need: white vinegar, baking soda, laundry detergent, water, and cotton towels or rags.
The first step is to mix a solution of equal parts white vinegar and warm water in a bowl. Dip towel or rag into the solution and then apply it to stained area.
Allow the vinegar solution to sit on the stain for 10-15 minutes. This will help break down the sweat particles and loosen them from the fabric.
When the time is up, rinse the stained area with warm water and blot it dry with a clean, dry cloth. If the stain is still visible, don’t worry – this is normal. The next step is to mix together a paste of baking soda and warm water. Apply paste to stained area and let it sit for another 10-15 minutes.
Once the time is up, rinse the paste off with warm water and blot the area dry with a clean cloth. Then, apply a small amount of laundry detergent directly to the stain and rub it gently into the fabric with a damp cloth. Allow the detergent to sit for 10-15 minutes before rinsing it off with warm water.
Finally, blot area dry with a clean cloth. If the stain is still visible, repeat the above steps until it is removed. With the right materials and a bit of patience, removing perspiration stains from canvas is easy.
