One of the simplest methods of removing perspiration stains from your shirts is using white vinegar. Simply mix equal parts of white vinegar and cold water in a bowl or bucket. Soak the buttondown shirt in the mixture for 30 minutes, and then rinse it off with cold water. Once the shirt has been rinsed off, launder as usual with detergent.
You can also use salt and lemon juice to tackle sweat stains. Start by squeezing some fresh lemon juice onto stained area and then sprinkle a generous amount of salt. Use your hand to rub the salt and lemon juice into the fabric. Allow it to sit for 15 minutes before laundering.
Denture tablets are often overlooked when it comes to stain removal but they can be very effective. Simply dissolve four denture tablets in two cups of warm water, and then submerge the stained shirt into the solution. Let it soak overnight and then launder as usual.
Another great way to remove sweat stains is by using baking soda and hydrogen peroxide. Mix equal parts of baking soda and hydrogen peroxide into a paste and spread it on the stains. Allow it to sit for an hour and then launder the shirt as usual.
