The first step to tackling perspiration stains is to wipe them away with a damp cloth or paper towel. This helps to remove any dirt or other materials that may be attached to the stain. Make sure to move the fabric gently so as not to cause further damage.
Once you have wiped away the majority of stain, you can apply some pretreatment. Look for a cleaner specifically designed for leather shoes. Then, use a soft cloth to gently rub the cleaner into the stain. Let the cleaner sit for about 10 minutes before rinsing.
If the store-bought cleaner isn't doing the trick, you can try creating a homemade solution. Mix equal parts water and white vinegar in a bowl. Dip a clean cloth into the mixture and dab it onto the stain. Let it sit for a few minutes before wiping area clean.
You can also use a non-abrasive brush, such as an old toothbrush, to scrub away the stain. Be sure to use gentle circles to avoid damaging the material of the boot. Rinse area with warm water and dry with a cloth.
If the stain is particularly stubborn, you can try a degreaser. Apply the degreaser directly to stain and let it sit for 10-15 minutes. Then, scrub the area gently with a sponge and rinse the area with warm water.
Once the stain has been removed, you'll want to treat the area with a leather conditioner. This will help to protect the material and keep it looking its best. Use a small amount of conditioner and rub it into the area with a soft cloth.
If the stain is still there after following these steps, you may need to repeat the process. Start over again with the original steps, this time applying more pressure or using a stronger cleaning solution. Eventually, you'll have the stain removed!
