Getting Rid of Stubborn Perspiration Stains on Adidas

Sweat, unfortunately, is often a part of life. When sweat comes into contact with fabric, it can leave behind unsightly and smelly stains. While these can seem tricky to remove, the good news is that there are several ways to clean and treat perspiration stains on Adidas apparel.

1. Identify Fabric Type

Start by taking a look at the tag in your Adidas gear to identify type of fabric. Different material types require different cleaning processes, so this step is essential.

2. Pre-Treat Garment

Next, take a few minutes to pre-treat the perspiration stain with laundry detergent. Depending on the fabric type, you may need to use a specially formulated stain remover. If you’re not sure what product to use, check the garment’s care label or consult a professional cleaner.

3. Machine Wash With Cold Water

In general, cold water is best for washing Adidas apparel. Make sure you select the most gentle cycle available to avoid damaging the fabric. After the cycle is complete, remove the garment from machine and inspect the stain. Repeat the washing process if needed.

4. Air Dry or Heat?

Most fabric types are best air dried. If you’d like to speed up the process, you can put the garment in the dryer on a low heat setting. However, be careful not to use too much heat as this could cause shrinkage. So unless the fabric tag specifically states otherwise, it’s usually better to air dry.

5. Bonus Tip

To reduce the chance of sweat stains occurring in future, consider applying a product that helps manage moisture. There are various products available designed to absorb sweat and keep your fabric fresh.
