What You'll Need

  • Baking Soda
  • Dish Soap
  • Vinegar
  • Soft Cloth

Step 1: Use Baking Soda

The first step is to create a paste out of baking soda and water. Mix equal parts baking soda and water until a thick, smooth paste forms. If necessary, you can add a few drops of dish soap to the paste to make it more effective.

Apply the paste directly to the affected area and let it sit for 15-20 minutes. This will help to lift the stain and absorb any excess moisture. Once the time is up, use a damp cloth to wipe the area clean and rinse away any residue.

Step 2: Use Vinegar

If the stain is still visible after using the baking soda paste, the next step is to use vinegar. Dip a soft cloth in a mixture of one part white vinegar and two parts warm water and gently dab the stained area. Be sure not to scrub too hard as this could damage the acrylic fabric.

Once you’ve finished applying the vinegar and water mixture, use a clean cloth to blot area dry. This will help to remove any remaining moisture and faint residue of the sweat stain.

Tip

If the stain is still visible after these steps, you may want to consider using a commercial cleaning product specifically designed for acrylic fabrics. However, be sure to test product on an inconspicuous area of the fabric before applying directly to stain to ensure the product won't damage fabric.
