Step One: Identify Stain

Take a close look at affected area of your yoga pants and determine what type of stain it is. Is it a water-based pen or a wax-based pencil? Knowing the type of stain you’re dealing with will help you select the best cleaning method.

Step Two: Pretreat the Stain

Mix a solution of liquid laundry detergent and cold water. Use a soft white cloth and a gentle rubbing motion to pretreat stained area. Rub the solution into yoga pants fabric in a circular motion until the stain begins to break up.

Step Three: Rinse the Fabric

Rinse the fabric with cold water and gently squeeze or blot with a soft towel to remove the detergent solution.

Step Four: Clean the Stain

If the stain remains, mix up a paste of baking soda and cold water and rub it gently into the stain. Let paste soak in for a few minutes, then rinse with cold water and air dry the pants. If the stain persists, use a commercial stain remover.
