Stains on your white tie can be a real nuisance, especially when they’re caused by a pencil. But don’t worry - there are a few simple steps you can take to get the stain out and make the tie look like new again.
If pencil stain is fresh, soap and water may be all you need to get rid of it. All you have to do is mix together a small amount of laundry detergent and warm water in a bowl. Then, use a clean cloth to dab the mixture onto the stained area of the tie. Leave the mixture on for 10 minutes or so, then rinse it off with cold water.
If the stain is stubborn, you might need to use a stronger cleaning agent. Rubbing alcohol is a popular choice, as it is effective at removing stains and won’t damage the fabric. Simply mix together equal parts rubbing alcohol and water, and use a cloth to apply it to the stained area. Leave the mixture on for a few minutes, then rinse with cold water.
If the other methods don’t work, you can always try using a commercial stain remover. These products are specifically designed to remove a variety of stains, including pencil marks. Before using, make sure to read product instructions carefully and test it on an inconspicuous area of the tie first. When the stain has been removed, launder the tie according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
If all else fails, you can always take your tie to a professional dry cleaner. They have the expertise and tools to remove even the most stubborn stains, so they should be able to get the job done. Although it may cost a bit more, it’s worth the peace of mind knowing your tie will come back looking good as new.
Pencil stains can be annoying, but don’t despair - it is possible to get them out! Try one of methods above and you’ll be happy with the results. Good luck!
