Unfortunately, pencil marks can occur on watches, especially with youngsters in the house. Pencil lead is fairly easy to remove but some caution needs to be observed to ensure the watch isn’t damaged in the process.

What You Need:

  • Soft cloth
  • Cleaning solution
  • Toothbrush

Step 1: Wipe the Area Clear

If pencil stain has been on your watch for some time, you may need to take extra steps to remove it. Start by wiping the area with a soft cloth to clear off any debris.

Step 2: Apply a Cleaning Solution

Once the area is clear, apply a small amount of cleaning solution onto the stain. Work it in using a soft cloth and let it sit for a few minutes.

Step 3: Scrub Gently With a Toothbrush

Using a soft, damp toothbrush, gently scrub the area where the pencil mark is. Be careful not to scrub too hard and damage the watch.

Step 4: Rinse With Water

Once the pencil stain has been removed, rinse the area with clean water. Pat dry with a soft cloth and your watch should be good as new!

Tips & Tricks

  • Always use a gentle cleaning solution when removing pencil marks from watches.
  • Be sure to test any cleaning solution on an inconspicuous area of the watch first to make sure it won’t cause any damage.
  • If the pencil mark is still present after following the above steps, try to remove it using a fine grade of steel wool.
