Step 1: Immediately Blot Stain

The first thing you should do when you notice a pencil stain on your Venetian lace is to take a wet cloth and immediately blot at the stain. This will help to keep the stain from setting into the fabric.

Step 2: Soak in Cold Water With a Mild Detergent

Once you've blotted the stain, you should submerge the lace in cold water with a mild detergent. You want to use warm or hot water, as it can cause the stain to set into the fabric. Let the lace soak for up an hour in solution before rinsing it off.

Step 3: Rinse and Air Dry

When you remove the lace from solution, you'll want to give it a brief rinse to make sure all of the soap has been removed. Then, lay lace flat to air-dry. Do not put it in the dryer as it may cause the fabric to shrink.
