To start, use a soft brush such as a sponge or cloth and gently brush away any loose particles or dust. Be careful not to use too much pressure as this could damage the material.
Mix a small amount of mild detergent with lukewarm water. Dip an old, clean toothbrush into the solution and gently brush the pencil marks. Do not scrub them as this could damage the material.
Once you’ve removed most of the pencil marks, use a white paper towel or cloth and blot the area to absorb the remaining moisture. Avoid scrubbing the area as this will only cause the stain to spread.
After you’ve blotted the stain, let it dry completely. If possible, hang the velvet fabric in direct sunlight to accelerate the drying process.
If pencil marks are still visible after drying, you may need to repeat Steps 1-4 until stains are completely gone.
Removing pencil stains from velvet can be a difficult task. However, with the right tools and methods, it is possible to get rid of them without damaging the material. Follow the steps outlined above for the best results.
