It’s end of summer, and you’re ready to start stocking up on tank tops for the warmer months. But if you’ve already picked up a few favorite tanks, you’ll want to make sure that they stay looking like new. Your first step should be to blot the stain with a clean cloth or paper towel. This will help to absorb some of the pencil coloring without spreading it out more than necessary. Try not to rub too hard, as this can cause the stain to spread even more.
Once you’ve removed some of the moisture from the stained area, apply a gentle stain remover to the spot. Don’t use anything too abrasive, as it might damage the fabric or fade the color of tank top. Read the instructions on the bottle before applying, and make sure to test a discreet area of the garment first.
Rinse the spot with warm water and gently blot dry. If the stain isn’t completely gone, repeat the process until it is. You may need to use a stronger stain remover if the original method doesn’t work.
Once the stain has been removed, put the tank top in the washing machine with a mild detergent. Run the cycle normally and let the machine take care of the rest. After it's done, hang your tank top up to air dry.
