If you've ever been a student or an artist, chances are you've had to deal with pencil stains on your clothes at some point or another. Pencils come in all sorts of colors, so the stains they leave behind can be pretty hard to remove. Fortunately, with a few simple supplies, it's easy to get those pencil stains out of your socks.
The first step is to get together the supplies that you'll need. You'll need white vinegar, laundry detergent, and a toothbrush (preferably an old one). Additionally, you may want to have some cotton swabs handy in case the stain has spread.
Once you've gathered your supplies, pour some white vinegar onto the affected area of sock. The vinegar should be enough to lightly dampen the area but not soak it. Then, use the toothbrush to agitate the material, making sure that the vinegar is really getting into fibers.
After you've agitated the stained area with the vinegar and toothbrush, it's time to wash the sock in laundry detergent. Put the sock in a washing machine with other items of similar colors, and use a regular cycle with cold water. Once the cycle is done, check the sock to make sure the stain is gone. If it isn't, repeat steps two and three until the stain is gone.
With these three simple steps, you can easily remove pencil stains from your socks. So don't worry; your favorite pair of socks will be looking good as new in no time!
