Step 1: Pre-Treat With a Stain Remover

Start by pre-treating the stain with a store-bought stain remover. Be sure to read the instructions on packaging carefully, and make sure the product is safe to use on the particular fabric of your skirt. Apply the remover on pencil marks and let sit for 5 minutes.

Step 2: Gently Rub Area

Once the stain remover has had a chance to set, lightly rub the area in a circular motion to lift the pencil marks from the fabric. Don’t press too hard or scrub too vigorously, as this could damage the skirt.

Step 3: Rinse and Repeat

After rubbing stain, rinse the area with cold water to remove the stain remover and the pencil markings. If the mark is still there, simply repeat steps one and two until the pencil mark is gone.

Step 4: Launder as Usual

Once you’ve successfully removed the pencil stains, launder the skirt according to the care instructions. Be sure to turn the skirt inside out during the laundering process.
