Get Rid of Pencil Stains on Silk Habotai Quickly & Easily Steps for Cleaning Pencil Stains from Silk Habotai
- Gently remove any excess material from the pencil stain with a lint-free cloth.
- Mix equal parts white vinegar and warm water in a bowl.
- Dampen a cloth with the vinegar and water solution and lightly blot the stain to help loosen it.
- Apply a small amount of mild detergent mixed with water directly onto the stain with a cloth and massage it in gently.
- Rinse the area with cold water to remove any remaining dirt and detergent.
- Allow fabric to air dry completely before using again.
Additional Tips
- Be sure to use only a small amount of detergent so that you don’t damage the silk fabric.
- If the stain does not come out after trying the above steps, you may need to use a stronger cleaning solution. A mixture of equal parts rubbing alcohol and water can be used to spot-treat stubborn stains. However, test a small hidden area of the fabric first to make sure it won't cause discoloring.
- Never put silk in a washing machine or dryer.
