First, pick up any remaining solids off fabric carefully with your fingers. Make sure to be gentle, so as not to spread out stain.
Fill a large bowl with hot water and add a few drops of dishwashing liquid. Place stained area inside water and soak for about fifteen minutes. Do not rub or scrub the fabric.
After the stain has been soaking for around fifteen minutes, take the fabric out of the bowl. Rinse the fabric with cold water, then lay it flat on a clean towel. Gently dab the fabric to absorb the excess moisture, then leave it to dry completely.
Once fabric is dry, apply a solution of equal parts white vinegar and warm water to the stained area. Let the solution sit on the fabric for at least five minutes, then rinse off with cold water.
If the stain is still visible, you can wash the fabric in the washing machine on the delicate setting with a mild detergent. Lay the item flat on a towel and let it air dry.
Repeat steps 4 and 5 as necessary until the stain is removed. If the stain is proving particularly stubborn, you can soak garment again in a stronger solution of vinegar and water.
