How to Easily Remove Pencil Stains from a Shift Dress
If you or your little one has ever had a pencil stain on your shift dress, then you know how difficult it can be to remove. Luckily there is an easy way to get rid of pencil stains that works no matter what kind of fabric the dress is made from.

Step by Step Instructions
- Start by gently brushing area to remove any loose pieces of pencil lead.
- Mix a solution of one part white vinegar and two parts warm water in a bowl.
- Using a clean cloth or sponge, apply the vinegar solution directly to the pencil stain. Allow it to sit for 10 minutes.
- Using a fresh clean cloth, gently rub the area until the pencil stain has been removed.
- Repeat as necessary.
- Once all of pencil stain is gone, rinse the area with cool water.
- Allow dress to air dry.
Tips for Success
- For tougher stains, you may need to use a bit of liquid detergent or laundry pre-treater to help break down the stain.
- Be sure to test any cleaning solution on an inconspicuous area of the dress prior to use to make sure it won't damage the fabric.
- If the stain persists, try using a bit of rubbing alcohol to help break down the pencil lead.
- If the stain is still present after repeating the above steps, take the dress to a professional cleaner.
