If your sandals have been the victim of pencil stains, don’t despair. These annoying markings can often be removed without hassle or a lot of effort.
Mix rubbing alcohol with equal parts water and use a cloth to gently rub away the pencil stain. For tougher stains, let the rubbing alcohol solution sit for about 10 minutes before continuing to rub the stained area.
Mix together baking soda and hydrogen peroxide to create a paste. Use a toothbrush or other soft bristled brush to scrub the paste into the stain, then use a damp cloth to lightly rinse it away. Rinse the sandal with water when finished.
As a last resort, try using nail polish remover to treat the stain. Apply the nail polish remover to a cotton ball and dab at the stain until it disappears. Rinse sandal off with warm water and let it dry completely before wearing.
To prevent future pencil stains on your sandals, always make sure to clean them off when you take them off, and avoid wearing them around areas where pencils might be present. For added protection, consider waterproofing your sandals to help guard against any accidents that may happen.
