Do you have a favorite rash guard that's been accidentally stained or marked by a pencil? Unfortunately, pencil marks on material of a rash guard can be difficult to remove. But don't worry! Here are a few hacks and tips to help you easily clean your rash guard.
This is probably the most obvious solution, but make sure you use a non-abrasive rubber eraser. Gently rub the eraser over the pencil stain in a circular motion. Avoid pressing too hard or you could damage the fabric. If this doesn't work, try wetting the eraser and repeating the process. This should help lift graphite off the material.
Another method for getting rid of tough pencil stains is using rubbing alcohol. Start by dampening a cotton swab with the rubbing alcohol and carefully dab stain. Don't rub or you might end up spreading the stain. The alcohol should dissolve the pencil mark without damaging the fabric. Wipe away any remaining residue with a cloth dampened with clean water.
Nail polish remover is another great way to remove stubborn pencil stains. Simply apply a small amount of nail polish remover onto a cotton swab and gently dab the stain. Be careful to avoid rubbing and saturating fabric. You can also mix one tablespoon of baking soda with two tablespoons of water to form a paste and gently rub paste over the stain. Rinse it off with clean water and stain should be gone.
Hair spray can be another great option for removing pencil stains from rash guard material. First, spray a generous amount of hairspray onto the stain and let it sit for a few minutes. Once the hair spray has had a chance to soak into fabric, gently rub the stain with a damp cloth. This should help the pencil mark disappear. Make sure to rinse area with clean water after you're done.
