When kids go off to school, it's inevitable that pencil stains will appear on their clothing at some point. Whether it's from writing assignments, coloring books, or other activities, there are a few ways you can make sure that these stains don't become permanent.
Start by pre-treating the stain with a laundry spot remover. There are several laundry spot removers available in the market, so you can choose one that suits your pajamas fabric. Gently massage the solution into the stain and wait for a few minutes. Once done let the pajamas air dry as much of stain should have lifted.
If the stain is still visible, fill a sink or basin with warm water and add the recommended amount of detergent. Submerge the affected parts of the pajamas and allow them to soak for around 45 minutes. You can also agitate the fabric slightly to help lift the stain up.
Once done, rinse the area in cold water to clear any remaining detergent from the fabric and then wash it as you normally would. Make sure the stain is completely gone before putting the pajamas in the dryer, otherwise heat could set it.
Finally, if the stain remains, you can use a stain remover spray like WD-40, which should help shift any stubborn marks. After spraying, take a clean cloth and scrub gently until the pencil mark has been removed.
