One of the simplest ways to clean pencil stains off of your lawn is to use a garden hose and water pressure. Begin by applying a stream of water at full pressure directly onto the pencil mark. You should keep the water running until pencil mark has been removed or faded considerably. Keep in mind that this method takes time and you will likely have to repeat it a few times before pencil stain is completely gone.
Another effective way to clean pencil stains off of your lawn involves using a mixture of dishwashing liquid and warm water. Start by creating a mixture of equal parts dishwashing liquid and warm water. After the mixture has been created, apply it directly onto the pencil mark with either a soft cloth or a sponge. Allow the mixture to soak for about 5-10 minutes before scrubbing it with a stiff brush in a circular motion. When finished, rinse the area with a garden hose, and the pencil mark should be gone.
If the pencil mark still won’t come out, use an oxygen bleach solution. Start by preparing a solution of 10 parts water to 1 part oxygen bleach. Apply the solution to the stained area with a sponge, and allow it to sit for approximately 15 minutes. After that period of time has passed, use a stiff brush to scrub the stained area in a circular motion. Finally, rinse the area with a garden hose and the pencil mark should be completely gone.
Last but not least, another method to clean pencil stains off of your lawn is by using white vinegar. Begin by applying a generous amount of white vinegar to the stained area, and allow it to rest for about 15-20 minutes. Once the vinegar has had a chance to settle, use a stiff brush to scrub the area in a circular motion. Lastly, rinse area with a garden hose, and pencil stain should now be gone!
